Welcome to At Home Dining Thyme by me, Phil Thompson
I am, of course, in the kitchen, sourcing the best seasonal ingredients and aim to grow more of them myself. I work alongside my fiancée Marianne and her niece Leiandra, who is our Head Waitress.
This is a wonderful experience for our guests and for me too. We share in some very special celebrations, and it’s a true honour to help create and be part of them. I design menus around allergies, dietary requirements and dislikes, to ensure that our guests really do enjoy every mouthful. I introduce and explain each dish, the ideas, techniques, ingredients and the journey to the table, including produce from my own garden.
Some of you will know me from my previous restaurant, Thompson St Albans. A chapter in my life I will always be proud to remember, where the team and I achieved and retained 3 rosettes, along with a Michelin guide recommendation. Others of you may know me from Auberge du Lac at Brocket Hall where I held a Michelin star, along with 3 rosettes.
I have cooked for family celebrations, casual lunches, corporate events, date nights, proposals, weddings large and small, anniversaries, and Christmas parties. I have so many stories to tell you!
Now I want to show you fine dining at home, as your personal chef for the evening, offering a bespoke dining experience. So you can relax and enjoy quality time with friends and/or family with no shopping, preparation or peeling!
You may have never had a private chef in your home, so why not give it a try to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, special occasion, or just because you deserve a treat and a slice of luxury with a dinner party at home and no cooking?
I can’t wait to bring you all together at the dinner table, join you for your special occasion dining experience and leave you with a memory to last forever.

Create a fun and interactive evening for you and your guests in the comfort of your own home with Phil Thompson as your personal chef, explaining dishes as they are served. Watch Phil cook, ask questions and build your own knowledge, or just sit back, relax and indulge… 7pm for canapés, sitting down for dinner at 7.30pm.
Menus can be adapted to cater for major dislikes and allergies; please advise at the point of booking. Available Tuesday to Saturday evening and Saturday lunchtime, subject to availability. Excludes the month of December, first 2 weeks in January, and special days.
Minimum of 8 guests or a minimum spend of £1,272 for At Home Dining Thyme.

How it Works
Timings
17:00/17:30 – Phil’s arrival time
19:00 – Canapés
19:30 – Dinner is served
On the Day
- Serving – Phil will bring out and serve the food when it’s ready, a little help with this would be more than welcome.
- Plates – Included, Phil will bring these with him.
- Washing up – All taken care of by Phil, please advise on dishwasher instructions.
- Waiter – Optional additional member of waiting staff £85.00
- Fridge space – Please can we ask you to allow for 1 free shelf of fridge space for Phil to use – thank you.
Your Help Please
- Setting the table – Please have this ready for Phil to serve the dishes.
- Cutlery – Can be include for a small hire fee.
- Wine pouring – Please have someone in your party ready to do this for you.
- Glass hire – This is not something we are able to provide, sorry for any inconvenience.
Afterwards
- Reviews & photograps – Please email to hello@homediningthyme.co.uk for our website & social media.
- Recommendations – Please tell your friends & family about us – this is a new business so word of mouth really is the best way for us to grow and flourish.
Payment & Allergies
Please advise of any special dietary requirements or allergies at the point of booking, and let Phil know which of your guest(s) this concerns on the evening. Please note until payment has been confirmed as received by us there is no guarantee of your requested date. We offer a refund for cancellations, with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice ahead of the booking date. However, as much notice as possible is appreciated.
