or,Hello and welcome to At Home Dining Thyme by me Phil Thompson, a family-run private chef service. We proudly bring luxury dining into homes across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas.
I have been a professional chef for over 30 years. I spent my early career in busy, high-pressure, Michelin-starred kitchens before running my own 70-cover, 3 AA Rosette restaurant for 12 years. At Home Dining Thyme is the perfect new adventure for me, and I absolutely love it!
I am, of course, always in the kitchen, sourcing the best seasonal ingredients and aiming to grow more of them myself. I work alongside my fiancée, Marianne, and her niece Leiandra, who is our brilliant, hardworking and dedicated Head Waitress.

We provide a truly wonderful experience for our guests and for us too. We share in some very special celebrations; it’s a true honour to help create and be part of these special memories. I design menus around allergies, dietary requirements and personal dislikes to ensure that you and your guests really do enjoy every mouthful. During the evening, I introduce and explain each dish, sharing the ideas, techniques, ingredients and the journey to the table, including produce from my own garden.
Some of you will know me from my previous restaurant, THOMPSON St Albans. This is a chapter in my life I will always be proud of, where the team and I achieved and retained 3 AA Rosettes, alongside a Michelin Guide recommendation. Others may know me from Auberge du Lac at Brocket Hall where I proudly held a Michelin star and 3 AA Rosettes.
